Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of the fund development program for St. Patrick’s Home Foundation. The successful candidate will provide leadership on fundraising initiatives including special events, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships and donor cultivation. Identify, organize and manage the fundraising activities with a focus on new opportunities to obtain on-going and increased support from corporations, major and planned gifts and individuals.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive written annual resource development plan with strategies for donors and prospect in each of the following groups: individuals, organization and corporations.
Provide monthly reports to the ED which measure progress towards achieving the plan.
Broaden St. Patrick’s Home fundraising by developing approaches such as planned giving, solicitation of bequests, and major gifts.
Create and implement strategies for donor development and cultivation which will provide a diverse and sustainable funding base for St. Pat’s.
Create and implement major gifts program and planned giving program.
Develop strategies to build and maintain relationships with major donors of all types.
Create and update collateral materials to support gift cultivation.
Ensure that the donor database information is current and accurate.
Assist in managing all Foundation’s events.
Work with appropriate staff and volunteers to ensure that all aspects of a successful event are coordinated towards a common goal.
Develop and solicit sponsors, donors and execute ticket sales.
Undergraduate Degree/Bachelor of Arts, with an emphasis or concentration in business, marketing, public relations or related field. CFRE recommended.
Five to Seven years of progressive fundraising experience including relevant experience at a management level.
Experience and contacts in the Ottawa Community are a plus.
Advanced PC skills and expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ETapestry experience desirable.
Desire to work as part of a team and willingness to promote the principles and values of St. Patrick’s Home.
Ability to work with minimal supervision – self-motivated and confident.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to inspire, train, motivates and supervises volunteers.
