The Membership Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing industry best practices to manage day to day operations, deepen the affinity of our current member base toward Shedd, oversee implementation of monthly onsite renewals, member events and manage special gift and acquisition campaigns through targeted list creation, data mining, and analytics.
This position works a Tuesday-Saturday schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Demonstrate commitment to Shedd's vision, mission and values.
Assist in the development and implementation of the annual strategic plan for the membership program which includes revenue and budget projections created through the use of data analytics.
Using industry best practices, create and implement strategies to deepen affinity of Shedd members which directly result in their renewed donation to Shedd aquarium. Work with individual giving team on on-site donation strategies.
Assist in the management of the acquisition strategy through data mining and targeted list creation.
Create exclusive floor opportunities and onsite communication for members that enhance their relationship with Shedd. Work with Guest Experience to educate, model the way and gain new members through floor time. Work behind the desk as needed.
Manage day- to- day implementation of on-site sales program including indirectly supervising membership booth staff as well as developing a peer/advisory relationship with all sales ambassadors on the floor and gift shop. This includes coaching, training and modeling the way with all floor staff.
Oversee member events from conception to execution.
Write engaging member content for emails, letters and other correspondence.
Serve as a liaison for all member service issues and advocate for membership through participation in Aquarium-wide teams. Guide external facing teams on customer service and policy guidelines.
Partner with like organizations to share best practices around enhancing the membership program at Shedd.
Complete weekly list of member thank you calls.
Complete daily list of calls to members that are in their renewal cycle.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in membership, preferably at a major institution.
Experience with Tessitura.
Occasional evening and/or weekend hours are required.
Ability to make decisions under pressure
Ability to manage several projects at one time.
Ability to work with people in all stations of life (including Trustees, corporate leaders, major donors, support staff, etc.)
