Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is seeking an accomplished fundraiser and seasoned manager to join a dynamic, collaborative, and entrepreneurial Development Office charged with advancing the mission of a world-renowned academic medical center. As a member of the Principal and Major Gifts leadership team, the Managing Executive Director of Development will contribute to campaign and major gifts “best practice,” translating fundraising strategies into success.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Principal and Major Gifts, the Managing Executive Director of Development will oversee major and principal gift fundraising for priority programmatic areas of the Capital Campaign, including the Cardiovascular Institute and Cancer Center – two of the medical center’s most significant clinical and research areas, as well as the largest fundraising division. S/he will be responsible for leading a team of front-line fundraisers in building the major and principal gift pipeline, develop creative prospect engagement strategies, and achieve the ambitious fundraising goals of a rapidly growing major gift program. This individual will also carry a small but critical portfolio of major/principal-level donors focused on key institutional elements of the Campaign.
