The Director/Sr. Director of Major Gifts serves as front line officer to promote university fundraising priorities and image to alumni, parents, and friends of the university. At a Director level this position is responsible for the identification, qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects with the capacity to make gifts of $100K or more. This position will be assigned to a specific university unit or geographic region and is field oriented, requiring direct contact with donors and donor prospects. The director will be responsible for meeting fundraising goals as they relate to the strategic needs of the university. Performance as measured against these goals will be evaluated annually. This position will involve regular travel to meet with gift prospects.
At a Senior Director level this position will be responsible for all of the above as well as oversight of specific programs in the college include: (1) management of the CAS stewardship program and ensuring close coordination between the college and the University Advancement central stewardship office; (2) in partnership with University Advancement Annual Fund office, supervise and integrate a lead annual fund position focused on CAS donor acquisition and lead annual gifts; (3) Supervision of CAS development non-fundraising staff; (4) creation of strategy and new programs to grow the donor and volunteer pipeline. Supervision is received from the Executive Director of Development, CAS. In consultation with Senior Associate Vice President, Development and relevant academic and administrative leaders on campus, the incumbent will set annual goals for the programs under supervision and the Director/Sr. Director will be evaluated annually for performance as measured against these goals.
Salary is commensurate with experience and will range from $85,000 + at the director level and from $95,000+ at the senior director level.
