The Mission of Meals at Home (MaH) is to foster health and contribute to individual well-being and independence by delivering
nutritious meals and medically prescribed diets and by providing other support services to the homebound, elderly, disabled, and
persons unable to care for their nutritional needs.
The Meals at Home service area includes residents of Skokie, Evanston, New Trier Townshi...p, and eastern Lake County, Illinois.
Meals at Home provides the elderly, persons with mental illness, individuals with disabilities, or those with temporary illnesses meals with high quality nutrients that will help them maintain or achieve functional independence. Meal recipients may be blind, frail, or recovering from illness. They may be mentally ill and/or poor and home bound. These meals make it possible for individuals to avoid costly and restrictive premature institutionalization and to participate as fully as possible in community life. In order to fulfill that purpose poor nutrition, malnutrition, and hunger must be prevented.
