The College of Nursing & Health Sciences is seeking qualified applicants for the role of Director of Development, responsible for ensuring the long term financial stability and success during the capital campaign, leading the fundraising for the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences (NWCNHS), while establishing and executing the fundraising goals, (major gift $50k + and principal giving $1 million+). The successful incumbent will develop working relationships by participating in professional, community, and chamber organizations and representing the University and/or the college at public functions as needed.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Oversight and direction of major and principal gift fundraising, donor stewardship, campaign cabinet management for the NWCNHS. Development and execution of the College's portion of the next comprehensive University campaign. Directs all major gifts fundraising activities relative to the assigned initiatives in the College. Initiates, plans and coordinates the development of donor cultivation, development of proposals and solicitations of gifts and grants at the major and principal gift levels specifically focused on the College. Provides professional fundraising guidance to the Dean and other academic and administrative leaders in defining donor stewardship and fundraising priorities.
- Soliciting support from previous and potential donors to the University and managing a personal portfolio of individual and institutional major and leadership gift prospects and participate in their cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. In collaboration with the Office of Estate & Planned Giving, ensures a productive pipeline of planned gift donors to enhance long-term financial resources for the NWCNHS priorities. Meets with potential major donors on campus, nationally, and in the community. Travels nationally to meet with prospects. Attends meetings, gatherings or University sponsored events. Operates a motor vehicle in the performance of these duties.
- Serving as a key member of the University Advancement team and participating in university-wide prospect management, cultivation and stewardship of donors and prospects. Develops and implements a strategic work plan that focuses on the internal and external objectives of University Advancement and the NWCNHS. Ensures the cooperative participation of NWCNHS the University prospect management and tracking system.
- Implements management methods to achieve NWCNHS major gift fundraising and stewardship goals, including monitoring and assessment of performance. Ensures compliance with University policies and standards. Develops and effectively administers college development office operating budget.
