The Speyer Legacy School, a K-8 school in Manhattan for accelerated learners, seeks a Director of Advancement. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Advancement
*Clearly articulates and promotes a strong case of need for philanthropy and builds opportunities to create and sustain a culture that understands the relationship between philanthropy and a unique Speyer education.
*Develops and implements a short and long-term advancement plan to meet established advancement goals and objectives. This includes, but is not limited to strategic initiatives for securing major gifts, donations to the Speyer Annual Fund, defining stewardship and prospecting tactics, enhancing special fundraising/cultivation events, and developing new approaches to supporting traditional advancement initiatives.
*Supports and advises the Head of School in cultivating and stewarding major gifts to the school and nurturing a culture of philanthropy; provides daily management of advancement staff including establishing annual goals; works collaboratively and creatively to position advancement opportunities and integrate messages in publications, grant submissions, reports, and collateral materials for cultivating and stewarding donors; works collaboratively with the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees and the Head of School to develop and carry out the annual advancement plan, and to plan, oversee, and support a periodic External Event to raise money for financial aid; works collaboratively with the Parents Association to plan, support, and oversee the annual InSpeyered Auction Event. communicates regularly with Trustees; and guides the Board towards greater involvement in fundraising through training and support
*Performs other dutues related to advancement and communication.
