The Director of Development position will focus on appreciably expanding the JGCF donor base and revenue results. The Director of Development will design and execute a diverse fundraising strategies aimed at significantly increasing giving from individuals, corporations, foundations, as well as event-based revenue. The successful candidate will bring a proven development track record and entrepreneurial spirit to the JGCF team.
Designs and executes annual fundraising strategy that will build a sustainable base of individual donors, corporate partners and event revenue.
Develops, motivates and coaches department staff, setting clear goals and expectations and providing leadership and support to ensure their success.
Develops and oversees departmental budget, and is accountable for revenue generation and expenses of the Development Department.
Works closely with Communications Director on marketing (including print, website and social media) efforts aimed at building a diverse donor base and inspiring positive brand awareness.
Works with the Executive Director to cultivate and steward major donors and foundations.
Builds meaningful partnerships with corporations to appropriately leverage the JGCF brand resulting in significant funding and brand awareness.
Designs and leads annual organization event that will engage sponsors and major donors resulting in $1M+ net revenue.
Works with Kick-It Program staff to secure sponsors and provide for event logistics at flagship tournaments.
Maintains world-class stewardship of all gifts to ensure long term relationships and build sustained giving.
Oversees Raisers Edge database including gift processing, acknowledgement and statistical analysis.
Represents JGCF at networking events and public speaking opportunities.
8+ years of successful fundraising from varied sources
Demonstrated ability to cultivate and expand donor relationships over time
Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate creative campaigns to expand individual giving
Proven track record of success in cultivating corporate relationships
Experienced in the design and execution of high-profile, high net-revenue events
Proven ability to design sound strategies for growth on a limited budget
Outstanding communication skills
Proficient project management skills
Demonstrated negotiating skills
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Raiser’s Edge experience preferred

The Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation (JGCF) was founded in 1999 by NASCAR Cup Series driver Jeff Gordon. Originally established to support various childhood causes, JGCF focused its mission in 2010 to work exclusively in the fight against childhood cancer.
As a public charity, the foundation raises funding to support pediatric cancer research, access to care in the US and Rwanda, and patient sup...port programs. The foundation raises approximately $2.5 million annually, and has plans to significantly increase support and impact over the next three years.
