Dartmouth College invites applications and nominations for the role of Associate Director for Campaign Planning. A member of the Advancement division, our Associate Director will partner with the Director of Campaign Planning and Operations in developing and coordinating high-level volunteer and solicitation strategies, including campaign project management and coordination, annual engagement strategy through dialogue-driven events, and special projects that assist in the management of our development efforts.
Our Associate Director will communicate with members of our Campaign Committee and Board of Trustees in the coordination of solicitation activities nationally, including the creation and management of volunteer materials, preparation of talking points, and onsite support oversight for Leadership Briefings in our efforts to engage our highest capacity alumni. S/he will work closely with primary staff to identify prospects for cultivation and solicitation by our Campaign Committee members/volunteers, and train regional directors and frontline fundraisers to plan and lead Leadership Briefing events featuring the President, key administrators, and campaign volunteers. Working with the Chief Operating Officer and key staff, our Associate Director will administer cross-departmental efforts to assess the campaign planning of Advancement efforts, including those of the professional schools.
Our successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of experience in fundraising. Keys to your success are your excellent oral and written communications, project management skills, strong interpersonal skills, creative program planning abilities, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills. A self-motivated professional with a collaborative nature, our Associate Director will be comfortable working closely with senior leadership and other staff members (both divisional and across the institution), alumni, volunteers, and donors while demonstrating a commitment to serving the needs of a diverse network. Your comfort level with technology and complex systems, volunteer management experience, and well-developed skills in high-level engagement strategy is essential. Our Associate Director will have a demonstrated comfort in engaging with both large and small groups, and will have the ability to travel domestically when necessary.
