Director, President’s Associate Program, Development and Alumni Engagement - 603290
Northern Arizona University is seeking a Director for the President’s Associate Program. The Director is responsible for the strategy, management, and execution of a robust leadership-giving program (annual gifts of $1,000 to $24,999). The successful candidate will be an experienced front-line fundraiser who will prioritize, validate, engage, solicit and steward a portfolio of up to 150 gift prospects capable of philanthropically supporting NAU at the leadership giving level. The Director will be responsible for building the President’s Associate program, which encompasses donors who give at the $1,000 or greater level on an annual basis, establishing a strong pipeline for future major gift support. Emphasis will be on developing and implementing the President’s Associates program strategy (identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, communications, outreach, events, outcome measurement and analysis) to grow the program from $2.9 Million raised in 2016 to $5 Million raised by 2024. The Director will be responsible for coordinating with the University’s overall fundraising program, including effective collaboration and partnership with colleagues, peers, and leadership within a diverse number and variety of fundraising programs; staffing University administrators and faculty on development visits with prospects and donors; and recording activities, contacts, solicitation strategies and proposals in Advance, the donor database. They will collaborate closely with the Director of Annual Giving to build solicitation and upgrade strategies for leadership giving prospects, as well as with Development Officers across campus to upgrade donors from leadership gifts to major gifts. The Director, President’s Associate Program will report to the Assistant Vice President, Development and Alumni Engagement, with dotted line reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, and will supervise one (1) Leadership Giving Officer. NAU is in the silent phase of a Capital Campaign. This position may be based in Phoenix or Flagstaff, Arizona.
Annual Salary: The budgeted salary amount is from $77,299 to $94,268.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a front-line fundraiser in a comprehensive development program, or equivalent experience in a related field, such as sales; established track record of closing gifts of $1,000 or more, or sales that support organizational and campaign priorities or revenue expectations; demonstrated experience with annual giving, affinity fundraising programs, direct response/direct marketing techniques, measurement and analysis.
