Alameda Health System Foundation (AHSF), a California 501 c(3) nonprofit, is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and innovative Director of Annual Giving to join its growing team of fundraising professionals dedicated to Investing in Caring, Healing, Teaching, and Serving All. Serving Alameda Health System (AHS), Alameda County’s patient and family-centered safety net health care system, the Foundation is committed to the value statement that health care is a right and not a privilege.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In partnership with leadership team, support execution of a comprehensive fundraising plan, including strategies to cultivate donors, increase annual giving efforts, and reach annual net fundraising financial targets.
Cultivate five to six figure corporate sponsor gifts, collaborate on successful fundraising events, manage routine seasonal and specialized donor appeals, and direct the annual employee giving campaign.
Directly supervise the Annual Fund Events & Marketing Manager and Development & Communications Associate positions.
Oversee the Associate Board, a group of emerging leaders, guide their professional and leadership development, and support them to achieve annual revenue targets.
Represent AHSF at business and community events as needed.
Oversee Foundation’s efforts with social media and marketing campaigns.
Develop and maintain ongoing progress reports to measure achievement of Annual Fund goals; refine and reinforce strategies in a timely, proactive manner.
Assist President in preparing the Annual Fund budget and expenses and ensure adherence to budget.
Maintain professional and positive internal and external relationships, including but not limited to AHS administration, office staff, Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, physicians, students, volunteers, patients, donors, vendors, and local community groups.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies and/or Relevant Experience:
Five to seven years of professional fundraising experience managing an annual fund or individual giving program with a proven track record in raising sponsorship funds at the five figure level and above.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Solid working knowledge of MS Office or comparable software suites (word processing, presentation, and spreadsheets) and of Raiser’s Edge or comparable fundraising software.
Experience in supporting activities related to large events/galas strongly preferred.
Experience in creating successful direct mail, marketing materials, online giving appeals including social media, and campaigns.
Strong interpersonal skills, i.e. oral and written communications, presentation skills, professional demeanor, judgment, and diplomacy.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which will include some evening and weekend hours.
Frequent use of a keyboard and computer screen.
