Making Waves Foundation seeks an experienced professional in stewardship and/or writing to communicate and create key messages, proposals and reports in support of fundraising activities.
The Stewardship and Gift Processing Manager will report to the Chief Advancement Officer.
Nature and Scope
Under the supervision of the Chief Advancement Officer, this position will be responsible for proposal and report writing and editing for Development efforts supporting key programs and initiatives. The role will also serve to manage the gift processing in coordination with gift officers and the finance department.
Create compelling proposals to support specific fundraising solicitations
Produce detailed reports for professional foundations, corporate and individual donors
Manage the gift processing and recognition of gifts to the organization
5+ years of professional writing and/or direct experience in Development Office stewardship activities
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Experience in writing and editing proposals and completing complex reporting
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, specifically with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor’s degree required

Various types of office equipment/supplies are used to accomplish the job requirements and include, but are not limited to phones, computers, pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboards, telephone, printers, etc.
You may be required to drive an automobile to other work sites for meetings, conferences, etc.
Making Waves consists of two organizations: Making Waves Academy (MWA) and Making Waves Foundation (MWF). MWA is a California public charter school founded in 2007. It currently serves approximately 800 students in grades 5-12. MWF houses the College and Alumni Program (CAP), which coaches and supports students through post-secondary programs, focusing on the attainment of a college degree. In ...addition, MWF provides administrative support and executive leadership, including fund development, communications, human resources, property management and financial oversight.
