Bow Valley College is Alberta’s largest comprehensive community college. From humble beginnings 50 years ago, we now serve over 15,000 learners annually with locations throughout Southern Alberta, including three state-of-the-art campuses in downtown Calgary.
Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President, External is the College’s senior position responsible for promoting the College’s brand, cultivating College contacts with individuals and organizations, and securing new revenues to enhance access to the College. The Vice President, External provides leadership, management and mentorship that supports the achievement of the College’s overall mission, strategic and business plans with a key focus on fund development, marketing and communications, alumni, government relations, partnerships and strategic communications to key external and internal audiences and stakeholders. These areas focus on increasing awareness of the College to both the internal and external community establishing Bow Valley College as a local, national and international leader in expertise areas, complete with increasing revenue to the organization for investment in additional learning activities, student support and facilities.
The Vice President, External will bring inclusive and strategic leadership including being part of the team, and defining and implementing the strategic plan. You will provide the strategic and operational leadership necessary to take Bow Valley College to the next level and ensure that it continues to be a leading comprehensive community college in Canada with its focus on applied education.
The ideal candidate brings a strategic, inspirational, transparent, and communicative leadership style to maintain the existing collaborative culture with learners, faculty, staff, alumni and donors. You will have significant leadership experience in fund development, government relations and marketing/communications within post-secondary or non-profit environments. You will ideally have a relevant graduate degree, a passion for learner and employee success, as well as respect and support for diversity.
