The purpose of this position is to secure corporate contributions in support of the strategic priorities of the university. The position engages corporations and foundations with NKU in strategic areas focused on student recruitment, research collaborations, and other key university initiatives that align with the goals of both institutions to build strong partnerships. These partnerships will lead to gifts that will help the university advance its priorities.
Prospect qualification: Identifies and tracks new corporate prospects.; Substantiates giving capacity, identifies philanthropic interest and executes any next steps. Manage a portfolio of 75-100 corporate prospects.
Prospect cultivation: initiates face to face meetings with corporate prospects with the intention of engaging prospect with university and advancing a conversation about philanthropic support for the University.
Prospect solicitation: drives the strategic planning for prospect solicitations. Serves as an active participant in a number of planned major gifts asks.
Prospect stewardship: develops and implements an annual stewardship plan focused on specific initiatives for acknowledgment, recognition and reporting.
Prospect management: Maintain prospect and donor contact information in the university’s fundraising data base (Raiser’s Edge).
Build strong relationships with academic and administrative leaders, program directors and staff; develop a deep knowledge of institutional programs and priorities.
Work with office of Government, Corporate and Foundation Engagement to align efforts on top corporate prospects to align with institutional goals relating to partnerships in recruiting, research, on-campus activities, etc.
Aid in convening and presenting to the Corporate Engagement Council, including creating agenda, presenting materials, and executing Council directives
Bachelor’s Degree plus five years of work related experience.
Experience with comprehensive fundraising campaign.
A strong track record of previous successful major gift solicitations/corporate gift solicitations ($25,000+) in higher education is preferred.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows application is required and knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are also required.
Schedule - 8:15 am to 4:30 pm; Varies depending on need; Some travel nights and weekends is required.
