North Country HealthCare Foundation seeks a Development Consultant who will:
plan and direct North Country’s development infrastructure and
plan, implement, and complete a $3M Capital/Endowment campaign for a family medicine residency program
The Consultant will carry out a broad-based campaign plan targeting our existing prospects for support, as well as solicit individuals, corporations, and foundations as appropriate.
North Country HealthCare is a multi-site federally-qualified health center in northern Arizona. North Country is the host institution for the Northern Arizona Advanced Education Center (NAHEC). Education has been part of North Country’s mission since it was founded in 1996. North Country and NAHEC are developing a community-based family practice residency. North Country currently has institutional accreditation through the ACGME (American College of Graduate Education) is preparing for residency program accreditation. Though the costs of supporting a residency are less in community settings rather than academic institutions, it is expected that a family practice residency will require ongoing financial support. To that end, the North Country HealthCare Foundation was established in 2014 for philanthropic support of the proposed family medicine residency and ongoing support for the North Country mission.
A feasibility study for a capital campaign was conducted at the end of 2015. Among the recommendations was to hire a Development Director. Candidates have been interviewed and an offer extended to a candidate with experience running campaigns but little experience in designing a campaign or long-term development planning. Formal development is a new function for North Country. To that end, the North Country Foundation secured philanthropy training this spring as well as assistance in developing the case statement for the campaign. Additional orientation, support, and planning are needed to create a coherent giving program at North Country.
