Oversee the use and maintain the integrity of the alumni and donor database. Support development staff in utilizing the database to its greatest potential. Research prospective donors and assist with alumni communications and events. Provide related support as needed for Johnson State College (soon to be Northern Vermont University- Johnson).
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the alumni and donor database, Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge NXT, and perform the related tasks, including: gift and pledge entry and accounting; maintenance and enhancement of all alumni, donor, prospect, and other constituent records; tracking of corporate match eligibility; output of reports; importing, exporting, and creation of lists, labels, and letters.
Generate a variety of written materials for the Development and Alumni Office including: gift letters and receipts, pledge reminders, year-end tax letters, personalized thank you letters, appeal letters, pledge reminders, and other communications to donors and alumni.
Coordinate in-house mailings as well as preparation of lists and documents for outside printing houses and mail house vendors.
Reconcile contributions received with the business office.
Develop, document, and implement effective operational procedures for managing alumni and donor information, including the tracking of moves management activity.
Train, supervise, and assign security levels to student workers and other Raiser's Edge users to ensure integrity of data entered into the system.
Perform queries and exports to produce detailed and accurate reports for use in mailings, data analysis, annual reports, prospect analysis, and appeal/campaign analysis.
Perform high-level research to identify sources of major gifts using creative research techniques, wealth screenings, and electronic searching methodologies. This information will be preserved in the database and analyzed to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, and connections to the institution.
Produce monthly electronic newsletters, online event registrations, and electronic appeals.
Create and execute a comprehensive marketing plan for advertising alumni gatherings and special events.
Coordinate the logistics for and assist with alumni events.
Oversee the annual alumni phonathon including: producing call sheets, tracking results, and hiring and overseeing the student callers.
Assist in creating and compiling content for the annual alumni magazine including producing the donor list, alumni news, obituaries, and the mailing list.
Identify potential volunteers for such groups as the Alumni Council, President's Roundtable, Fundraising Task Force, and campaign committees.
Assist with administrative support including: preparing journal entries, processing payment requests, running budget reports, ordering supplies and other tasks as needed.
Keep current with and utilize Raiser's Edge and prospect research educational opportunities and online resources.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years' experience working with a constituent database, preferably in a development office or in a college or university setting.
Intermediate to high-level skill with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Extreme attention to detail and a high level of organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of internal and external constituents.
Demonstrated analytical skills.
The ability and willingness to be flexible and deal with interruptions in a fast-paced, busy office.
Knowledge of the functionality and features of Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge.
Experience with marketing and social media platforms.
Experience with event planning.
Experience working with Constant Contact, Donor Search, Formstack, TouchNet, and Colleague.
