Worldreader is growing our development team and looking for a dynamic and impactful Manager, whose role is to cultivate, solicit, and steward foundations.
The Development Manager, Foundations will steward and grow Worldreader’s portfolio of foundation donors and prospects. S/he will work to refine and implement an organizational stewardship strategy, develop relationships with staff at foundations, conceptualize grant proposals and pitch decks, and manage a grant reporting processes.
The development manager is part of a global fundraising team, and reports to the Associate Director, Institutional Giving. S/he will collaborate across the team and with other staff, volunteers, and board members to manage Worldreader’s foundations strategy.
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial and flourishes in a team environment. S/he is a skilled writer, facilitator and coordinator with outstanding project management and interpersonal skills, sound judgment and a strong passion for Worldreader’s mission to create a world where everyone is reader.
Proven track record in Grant Writing, Grants Management/Compliance, and Prospect Research/Identification/Management.
The ability to write and edit compelling foundation communications, including letters of interest, proposals and reports.
Strong cross-cultural communication skills (verbal and written).
Experience establishing goals, structures, and processes necessary to implement a mission and strategic vision.
Proficient with Salesforce and/or comparable CRM systems.
Must be able to travel up to 25%, occasional work on evenings and/or weekends may be required.
