To design and manage a direct marketing program that increases unrestricted and budget relieving philanthropic support for the Ivey Business School.

Continuously develop and implement, in conjunction with the Director of Development, an overall strategy to attract unrestricted and budget relieving gifts through direct mail, email, social media and other direct marketing channels.
Manage data, trend, and performance reporting processes and analyze results to develop enhanced donor retention, reactivation, upgrading, acquisition, and in conjunction with the Director of Development, set revenue targets for direct marketing programs.
Manage the operations and budgets of Ivey Fund’s direct marketing programs.
Manage Ivey Fund’s gift acknowledgement processes at Ivey and at Western, including but not limited to: gift acknowledgement; initiation of new accounts; maximum utilization of the database and implementation of new processes as required.
Collaborate with Ivey’s Marketing and Communications department and the external agency to maintain an effective Ivey Fund brand that communicates a persuasive case for support; maintain brand guidelines and develop ways in which the brand can be applied and extended throughout the Ivey Fund portfolio (direct mail, email, social media, etc.), while remaining aware of possible brand dilution.
In collaboration with the Executive Director of Advancement, the Director Development and the other Associate Directors, ensure annual giving program strategies are aligned with the overall development strategy.
SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
The Manager, Annual Giving must possess a University degree and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience.
The incumbent must also possess:
a sophisticated grasp of direct marketing techniques and related methods for building and sustaining annual support
strong communication skills, both oral and written
ability to organize and manage a diverse range of assignments and projects with high efficiency, yet thorough attention to detail and follow through
proven ability to develop persuasive solicitation materials for external audiences
knowledge of digital and social media fundraising techniques
an ability to work with information systems and databases to fully exploit the use of segmentation for solicitations
an ability to interpret data in order to determine effectiveness of current strategy and determine future action
an ability to effectively communicate data-driven results and put forward recommendations
exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire confidence and trust in alumni, friends and corporate stakeholders
appreciation of the mission, purpose and values of a comprehensive university, and more particularly, a leading business school and responding to the educational and research needs of an international business environment.
The following skills are considered assets:
demonstrated ability to engage with external donor stakeholders, manage unfolding timelines in order to strategically move individuals down the pipeline
demonstrated ability to interact effectively with senior business leaders in order to influence, recruit and retain them as engaged volunteers.
