Worldreader is looking for a highly energetic fundraising professional with a track record of building relationships and a love for donor stewardship to serve as the organization’s Major Gifts Officer.
S/he will grow and manage a significant portfolio of high net-worth prospects, moving them from qualification through solicitation and close; in the process, developing long?term relationships built on a firm understanding of donors’ interests, passions, and values as they relate to the Worldreader’s mission and vision.
The major gifts officer is part of a global fundraising team, and reports to the Associate Director, Individual Giving. S/he will collaborate across the team and with other staff, volunteers, and board members to manage Worldreader’s major gifts strategy, and to cultivate and solicit gifts.
Knowledge of best practices in non-profit fundraising, major gift cultivation, reporting and receipting.
Proven ability to use relationship building skills to identify and cultivate new prospects as well as maintain and build upon relationships with existing prospects.
Experience with project management and prospect research.
Strong cross-cultural communication skills (verbal and written).
Experience establishing goals, structures, and processes necessary to implement a mission and strategic vision.
Proficient with Salesforce and/or comparable CRM systems.
Must be able to travel up to 25%, occasional work on evenings and/or weekends may be required.
