The Nueva Fund and Alumni Relations Manager will report to the Director of Development and will be responsible for the strategic and tactical execution of the development department’s goals in these areas. S/he will plan collaboratively with leadership to maximize potential impact and benefits in critical areas of fundraising, alumni relations, and donor stewardship and recognition. S/he will ensure that Nueva priorities, mission, and stewardship components are reflected in all work.
The Manager will work with senior leadership to develop strategies and implement tactics that will successfully increase philanthropic support from key constituencies. S/he will collaborate with colleagues in Development in order to maximize potential and meet department goals and objectives and will work with Nueva’s volunteers to facilitate all meetings, call nights, solicitations, communications, and stewardship related to the Nueva Fund. The Manager will maintain a comprehensive stewardship program that includes acknowledgments, donor signage, gifts, and recognition events.
A critical member of the Development team, the Manager must be hyper-organized, creative, and a doer. S/he must be a proven and excellent volunteer manager and have an adaptable personality. S/he will work closely with colleagues to maintain donor files, financial records, and other documentation.
The Manager will help create, implement, and maintain a strong alumni relations program by establishing robust and effective tracking systems. S/he will work with leadership to establish programs that address and satisfy the needs of our various alumni groups. S/he will build networking opportunities for alumni and the student body in order to benefit them all through maintenance of the alumni website, print publications, coordination of events, social media communications, and an internship program, and generate and execute other ideas as practical.
Bachelor’s degree required
At least five years of fundraising and/or communications experience
Proven alumni relations experience
Facility with Raiser’s Edge or comparable CRM software
Vision, creativity, flexibility, and the capacity to execute the school’s strategic plan
Effective administrative experience and the proven ability to motivate others
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Experience leading and engaging all stakeholders — trustees, colleagues, parents, students, alumni, other donors, partners, and volunteers
