Job Description
About the SVP/Financial Development Position

This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced financial development professional to be a part of a team involved in providing inclusive, safe and caring environments, positive roles models, creative activities and opportunities to serve the needs of others – all which are the essential building blocks for strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

The SVP/Financial Development contributes to the achievement of the YMCA of Greater Seattle’s mission by providing knowledge, strategies and tactics to ensure the Association’s financial development goals and objectives are achieved through the engagement of community leaders, volunteers, donors, grantees and staff. The SVP a key member of the executive management team, engaging in strategic and tactical planning for the Association; and providing direction and leadership directly for the YMCA Financial Development department and indirectly for branch based Financial Development staff. The SVP/Financial Development assists the CEO in developing an actively engaged fundraising volunteer board of directors and in positioning the YMCA as a “charity of choice” for the investment of donations within the Greater Seattle communities. The position participates in general management and decision-making and assists with development and implementation of policies for the organization. The SVP/Financial Development reports to the CEO/President. (See Job Description for further details)

Key Position Deliverables:

•Actionable, relevant strategies and tactics that result in meeting Association financial development goals.

•Key community contacts and leaders who make financial contributions and serve as campaigners and advocates on behalf of the YMCA of Greater Seattle.

•Metrics and other evaluation tools to measure financial development results and potential.

•High performing, results based financial development team

•Reports updating progress and results.

NOTES: North American Residents Only. Employer will assist with relocation costs.
Additional Salary Information: Competitive benefits package includes health, dental, life and long term disability insurance, 12% retirement fund contribution, when eligible. Relocation assistance negotiable.

Requirements
Required & Preferred Background: The successful candidate for this position will have:

•Bachelor's degree in business administration, financial development, communication, public relations, human services or equivalent preferred. •Minimum seven years experience in financial development with emphasis on major gift, annual giving, foundation and corporate grants, capital development, planned giving and volunteer development in the YMCA or other large non-profit organization.

•Minimum five years experience in successfully leading and managing a team of direct and indirect reports and managing a department budget.

•Minimum three years experience working successfully on a cross-functional leadership team responsible for overall direction and achievement of organizational wide results.

•Strong preference for direct experience with and working relationship with the Greater Seattle area public, private and non-profit sectors.

•Strong preference for knowledge of and previous successful experience working with and engaging all communities and diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation etc..

•Ability to speak any language in addition to English preferred.

•YMCA Senior Director Certification or equivalent preferred.
